Baptism

“Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we may live a new way of life.”

Romans 6:4

Getting Baptised In Covenant EFC (FAQs)

1) What are the requirements for me to get baptised in CEFC?

Applicant must have prayed to receive Christ. You will be required to state the date of your conversion on application form

Applicant is a member or regular worshipper of CEFC.

You must be 19 years old and above to be baptised as an adult in Covenant EFC. If you are between 13–18 years old, you can register for with our youth, The Next Generation (TNG). Please refer to TNG Baptism or contact tng.baptism@cefc.org.sg for TNG Baptism.

  • Apply to join our baptism class at https://cefc.ch/BaptismClass. The dates for upcoming classes this year are found in the above form. We will acknowledge your submission and remind you, 2 weeks before the class, to attend.

  • We will also arrange for a pre-Baptism meet-up with you (either in person or via Zoom), to get to know you better.

  • Thereafter, we’ll confirm with you regarding your baptism at the next baptism service.

Covenant EFC generally does not practice infant and child baptisms. Please feel free to speak with any of our pastors if you have questions or concerns.

Yes, we celebrate family members being baptised together! If your children are 19 years old and above, all of you must have met the necessary requirements for Adult Baptism. If your children are 13–18 years old, they must have met the requirements for TNG Baptism.

Upon fulfilling all the requirements of baptism, you and your child/children can be baptized together at the adult baptism service. Please contact us at sgi.admin@cefc.org.sg so that we can liaise further with you as needed.

Even though we do not practice infant and child baptisms, we do recognise your baptism as an infant / child if you have been baptised previously in another church. Covenant EFC generally does not practice baptising members again. Please feel free to speak with any of our pastors if you have questions or concerns.

As long as you were baptised in a church that believes Jesus Christ to be the Son of God, and practices baptism according to His command as recorded in Mt 28:19-20, there is no need for you to be baptised again in Covenant EFC. We believe that, regardless which church, baptism is into the Kingdom of God.

Please speak with any of our pastors or contact us at sgi.admin@cefc.org.sg so that we can better understand your situation.

The baptism class will be conducted at ACK Center, Level 10. It is usually held on a weekend and the session will last for 2 to 2.5 hours.

Yes! Baptism is a public declaration of our faith so inviting family and friends (especially pre-believers) to witness this momentous occasion is highly encouraged!

Please write in to sgi.admin@cefc.org.sg and we will attend to you as soon as possible!
